Report of the board
With great pleasure we present the Annual Report 2016 of the Kofi Annan Business Schools Foundation.
In 2016 the Foundation kept a steady course. However, our world seems to be even more complex and sometimes confusing.Growth is not self-evident anymore. This, indeed, is also true for the KABS Foundation from every perspective, be it number of network partners, programs or fellows. This became very clear in the most useful "First Years Report", that was published in 2015. In Istanbul, in the autumn of that year, the Board took immediate action. A number of decisions were taken to cope with the situation. We decided, for instance, to lift the restriction that we only would accept one institution from each country.
We changed our growth policy and broadened the access to our network by opening up the possibilty that more good schools from one country, in particular the bigger ones with larger populations, can becom a KABS member. A good candidate was found in Germany, where we discussed with the HHL Leipzig its participation, starting in 2016. We also decided to focus the work for the Foundation on programs at the master degree level. In line with this decision, we started in Utrecht discussions with the Utrecht School of Economics, USE (Faculty of Law, Economics and Management, Utrecht University) about its future participation with its master degree programs on entrepreneurship and on international management. So in 2016 the HHL Leipzig and Utrecht University (USE) became full members of KABS.
In 2016 the number of Kofi Annan Fellows that finished their Bachelor or Master degree studies increased to 73.
The KABS Foundation continues to operate on a sound financial footing.
