After the first years it was time to sum up what had been achieved so far. Looking at the front page of our report alone, it was worthwhile doing it: all those fellows that were educated at our schools in
Europe! We are proud that they are now working as our ambassadors to better the economic situation in their home countries. If you want to read the whole report, Click here5.69 MB to open the report in Google viewer in a new window.
We are proud to say that by the end of 2017 a cumulative number of 97 KABS fellows studied or studied at one of our member universities.
A few important decisions were taken in the fall of 2017. The annual fee of the foundation had already been halved, the previous year, but the financial situation of KABS Foundation remained sound due to low expenses. It was decided that under Dutch law - and since finances were simplified during the past few years - the annual financial report could be approved of by the board without need of an external accountant, thus saving these expenses as well. In addition, the insourcing contract of the secretary was discontinued per April 2018 and this task will be shared by the network partners, further streamlining expenses. Having taken these steps, the board was able to decide to stop asking schools for an annual membership fee from 2018 on. As the fee seen as a stumbling block for institutions to join our network, the Board hopes that this move will stimulate further growth in the near future.
